Compare the exact products
Ask for materials, layer construction, thickness, installed dimensions and sample weight. A solid floor covering and a cellular foam tile do not offer a like-for-like comparison at the same thickness. Separate material properties from the performance documented for the finished model.
Review safety and care evidence
Specify the destination market, age group where relevant and intended environment. Request applicable finished-product reports and care instructions. Avoid saying that every member of one material family is safer, odor-free, recyclable or chemical-free.
Assess layout and use
Compare seam fit, surface finish, installed height and compatibility with the substrate. Review movement, equipment or wet-area requirements using a representative sample and relevant evidence. Do not substitute a general material comparison for a specialist flooring assessment.
Compare the delivered offer
Use equivalent usable area, quantities, accessories and packing. Include freight, installation requirements and replacement options. Ask the supplier to explain any differences in specification before deciding on price.
